Degreasers

Why do Screens Need degreasing ?

When a new mesh is adhered to the frame,
it needs to be thoroughly degreased.
Also the mesh needs to be roughened,
so that the stencil has something to adhere to.

There are two ways of doing this,
either with caustic paste, which acid-etches the mesh,
or with a liquid degreaser N.C. with a
nylon brush to physically roughen the mesh.
After the mesh has been roughened,
a degreasing liquid N.C. can be used between stencils

The following degreasers are stocked.

Hard to remove Stencils & Inks
When the above screen cleaner have
been used, and there is still dried ink,
emulsion and stain left in the mesh,
a combination of Pregan Paste,
or Alkaline paste with Stencil & Haze Remover
can be used.
Mixed 50/50; applied to the screen
left for half-hour, then hosed with high pressure.
This should bring the screen back as new.
Degrease N.C. before applying new stencil.
If on the 2nd or 3rd application,
the screen is not clean it may require Remeshing.
We also have a screen cleaning service available.
