Degreasers
Why do Screens Need degreasing ? When a new mesh is adhered to the frame, it needs to be thoroughly degreased. Also the mesh needs to be roughened, so that the stencil has something to adhere to. There are two ways of doing this, either with caustic paste, which acid-etches the mesh, or with a liquid degreaser N.C. with a nylon brush to physically roughen the mesh. After the mesh has been roughened, a degreasing liquid N.C. can be used between stencils The following degreasers are stocked. Pregan Paste Caustic screen degreaser Sold per 1kg, 5kg (Caustic) Gabba Alkaline Paste Australian made degreasing paste. (similar to Pregan paste). Sold per 1kg, 4.5kg, 10kg Gabba Degreaser N.C. Can be used as a degreaser, or to help remove cuastic materials from the screen Sold per 1lt, 5lt ( Non Caustic) Adhesives, Aerosol Products Table adhesive liquid adhesive for base boards. Water Based Sold per 1lt, 5lt Spray adhesives for base boards. Sold per 350g can. Kissel & Wolf,Spray Opener to unblock screens of dried inks. Sold per 500ml can. Kissel & Wolf, spray adhesives for base boards & Artwork. Sold per 500ml can. Kissel & Wolf, 930, 933 & 1000Adhesive for adhering mesh to frames. Screen Cleaning
Ink Removal To remove ink from the screen (if a water based ink), hose screen out; if a solvent based ink you can use a stencil & haze remover, which is a water emulsifying solvent, easy to wash from the screen with water or remove solvent inks with appropriate solvents. Stencil Removal Remove lacquer blockout from screen with lacquer thinner-acetone-stencil & haze remover, before removing stencil. Stencil & Haze Remover Sold per 1lt, 4lt, 25lt Direct Emulsion Stencils and Capillary Films Screen Strip Concentrate Can be removed with a stencil stripper or a concentrated powder. The powder is mixed with water before applying to screen. (100 g is mixed with 5lts water) Scrub onto screen, leave 5 mins then hose off,or use high pressure gun. Screen strip sold per 100g, 1kg. Decoat Paste Also for removal of all direct emulsion, and Capillary stencils. Sold per 1kg, 4.5kg, 10kg. Indirect Film Stencil Can be removed with a mild household bleach solution or an industrial bleach. (Not Stocked) Hard to remove Stencils & Inks When the above screen cleaner have been used, and there is still dried ink, emulsion and stain left in the mesh, a combination of Pregan Paste, or Alkaline paste with Stencil & Haze Remover can be used. Mixed 50/50; applied to the screen left for half-hour, then hosed with high pressure. This should bring the screen back as new. Degrease N.C. before applying new stencil. If on the 2nd or 3rd application, the screen is not clean it may require Remeshing. We also have a screen cleaning service available. |
